it was good to start with, but pretty basic. in addition to dumb clicks, would have been helpful to understand Aurora storage and query processing.

The instructions no longer look like the configuration wizard as of of 11 July 2019. The layout and terms in the wizard might have changed since this lab was written. I was stuck at Task 3. I wasn't sure what 'full endpoint name' referred to. I tried multiple endpoints, starting with the endpoint of the reader, and couldn't connect to any though the status of my aurora db says it is available. A screenshot of the author's MySQL workbench would be helpful.
