There were numerous steps where I just did not understand what was required and just hoped for the best. I finally decided to write down when things were just confusing. Task 7 -> Step 2 After the columns are selected and the step is saved there is no way to do step 4 without clicking Add the recipe which should be part of the instructions for Step 2. And now I see that by clicking Add Recipe that I can't complete the partial deduplication step. I had to click on teh unintuitive icon to open tje Recipe list. Task 7 -> Step 11 says to delete the last 3 steps. It should say to delete the last 2 steps. Task 8 -> Step 6 On pressing Run a dialog opens asking to check override settings? Which settings would those be? There is no section section tht uses the word override even though Stp 2 mentions we can define override settings. Also, one of the parameters, patent_id_filter, is a string and appeared in teh SQL with single quotes around it. Step 4 just says to enter a value of 0. Removing the single quotes caused the dialog not to eappear, but now a Transfer error message appeared: ValidationFailed: Invalid SQL generated due to Run Parameter values (GoogleJsonResponseException: 400 Bad Request GET https://bigquery.googleapis.com/bigquery/v2/projects/qwiklabs-gcp-04-e590080d803f/queries/job_jxdyGuFWhlV3L68QiDDrMYWgXs1e?location=US&maxResults=0&timeoutMs=0 { "code" : 400, "errors" : [ { "domain" : "global", "location" : "q", "locationType" : "parameter", "message" : "No matching signature for operator > for argument types: STRING, INT64. Supported signature: ANY > ANY at [1:86]", "reason" : "invalidQuery" } ], "message" : "No matching signature for operator > for argument types: STRING, INT64. Supported signature: ANY > ANY at [1:86]", "status" : "INVALID_ARGUMENT" }) Turns out the value of 0 should be '0'. The instructions say that the job will take several minutes to run. What can we look at to determine that? I guess it is transform with profile. The instructions should point that out. Being unfamiliar with the dataprep tool from Alteryx I was too busy making sure I followed the steps to actually learn anything. Total waste of time.
