I recently completed the "Predict Taxi Fare with a BigQuery ML Forecasting Model" lab, which was an insightful experience in leveraging BigQuery ML for predictive analytics. This lab guided me through the process of using a vast dataset of New York City taxi trips to build a forecasting model for predicting taxi fares. I learned how to explore and query public datasets, create and evaluate machine learning models with minimal coding, and fine-tune my model with feature engineering. The hands-on experience with BigQuery's linear regression model was particularly valuable, as it enhanced my understanding of model evaluation metrics like RMSE and the iterative process of improving model performance. This lab has significantly broadened my knowledge of practical machine learning applications in BigQuery.
