... in the lab, the page on CloutFront will display about 10 min after the distribution is "deployed".

Very rudimentary lab but worst issue is the amount of time wasted waiting for CloudFront distribution to be available. There should be other steps that you can perform while waiting - I walked through the rest of the lab and still waited for quite some time before being able to proceed. This is really at most a 15 minute lab outside of waiting on the system.
