There is garbage in the instructions page. The certificate type needs to be rsa-x509-pem, not RS256f or what that garbage was (can't scroll while this input field is open).

There is a typo in the lab (the section around creating the iot device via cloud shell looks like it is supposed to be commented. Also there are additional steps to get it to work on Cloud SDK rather than Cloud Shell
