Incorrect command to create iot device. Fails with gcloud crashed error . As pointed out by Toni M in an earlier review, certificate type needs to be rsa-x509-pem instead of rs256f. Command which worked for me was gcloud iot devices create my-device --region=us-central1 \ --registry=iot-registry \ --public-key path=rsa_public.pem,type=rsa-x509-pem
