Good level of detail - especially like the creation of subnetworks and assignment of instances to them. I would have liked a bit more information on firewall rules for custom networks, but I can read this later.

needs to be updated, networking not in same location as in lab instructions, and some shell commands are deprecated

You need to update the reference "Networking > Networks:" to now be called "Networking > VPC network:" as GCP has updated their UI.
