I re-tried, and now I had no problem with the region resources. The problem was with the permissions as others mentioned, it was easy to fix, but for someone who is just starting that sucks, and also was left with very little time between creating a cluster that dind't work and then changing student permissions to create the cluster again. (old comment) the region had errors: The zone 'projects/qwiklabs-gcp-01-20da81cd81a7/zones/us-east1-d' does not have enough resources available to fulfill the request. Try a different zone, or try again later. I tried in another region, but as expected since the error already said "confirm you are in region us-east1" so when I tried in another region it didn't work. Maybe I needed to change the zone but the time was not enough to test.
